Dawes Final Roll MCR
Missippi Choctaw Rejected, right?
Hi,
While looking through the Dawes Card Information on the Dawes Final Roll, I noticed there are a lot of MCR numbers. I was wondering why they have CDIB cards if they were rejected. In particular MCR2236. I’ve read the Dawes Packets and they all say REJECTED. Any help in understanding this would be very much appreciated.

Hi Rebecca,
Specifically for MCR2236, John Manning, there was no CDIB card attached to his record in AccessGenealogy’s Dawes Roll database. John was denied admission into the Mississippi Choctaw as he was unable to provide evidence of his connection to the tribe.
Can you give an example where you see a CDIB card and an MCR number for somebody else? It is possible that in those specific cases somebody was already a member of another tribe when they were rejected from the Mississippi Choctaw… but we’d have to actually see an instance of both the MCR and CDIB.
