Does anyone have any information about my creole ancestors whose surnames were Francois from Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana?

I am a native New Orleanian, and I have been on a genealogical quest to find much more inquiries about my creole ancestors whose surnames were Francois than what I have already attained. They had either derived or migrated to Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. My fourth great grandparents’ names were Honore and Josephine Francois. Their children’s names were Justin Francois, Julien Francois, Augustine Francois, Adelide Francois (who I strongly believe is my 3rd great grandmother), Francois Francois, Honore Francois, Lucien Francois, Josephine Francois, and Camilite Francois. There were some first name transitions too. If anyone has any more inquiries than what I have, please let me know.

Roussin

My great great grand father was Joseph Roussin Married to Mary Mean. His records are only with my great grand fathers marriage license. He was from the Manotoba area in Canada. I know we have Cree in our blood line. Is this Joseph Roussin/ Rosenau from the Mathias Colomb Cree Nation? GGmother Mary Mean is another mystery.

I am seeking information on my grandfather who immigrated to America in the late 1800’s and I am getting a lot of “all records were lost in WWII bombings”. I have to believe there is some record of my family still there. Can you help me find it.

My grandfather’s name was Emil Kuntzsch…he changed it to Emil Kuntsch and eventually to Emil Kunsch.

I have hit a roadblock and am very frustrated.

How can I find gr gr grandpa?

My gr gr grandma and her children came to the U.S. on the same ship. I found them easily. Her husband must have come here sometime since he’s listed on census records, but I can’t find any record of his crossing. I’ve tried alternate spellings. I’ve tried Sound-Ex. I’ve tried searching arrivals from their original village. I’m completely stumped. Please help.

Does it have to cost a fortune to get info?

My GG Grandmothers parents where born in Georgia USA, (Cherokee) 1810 unkown McKay and 1815 Susan McKay they had a daughter my GGrandmother Mary Elizabeth McKay birth about 1834. She first married a Dodson, and then my G Grandfather Chris Portherfield. I have found Elizabeth Dodson and some of the children ( Dodsons) on some of the rolls but not my Grandfather. It seewms impossible to get the info. I want to know her decendents and at 62 feel time is running out. I thought about trying to go to Georgia to some of the centers there. I know Chris was in Carroll and Paulding counties at some time. I am on Social secutiry and have so little to let go of. Does anyone have any suggestions that might help? They moved to Arkansas whem Mary Elizabeth was a child. It seems a lot of them did.
Thanks, Carolyn Stuart
